August 29, 2026 - Updated from the Nor'easter website News Desk
We've been quiet here since we restored and released Calm Before the Storm in 2022, and finished the filming and production of the mini-documentary Rock Time in Your Town early the next year. Our intention was to package it up and pitch it to a streaming service. That is pretty detail oriented extra work once you finish a film, and we all got busy with other projects and life.
After letting it sit for too long, we would rather you be able to see and share the movie as we made it, without the bells and whistles for the algorithm-driven streaming services that don't matter to the viewers at all. You can see it down below or on YouTube permanently at https://youtu.be/kVT5OV00kx4.
Rock Time tells our chapter of a common but rarely heard story about the countless bands that take their shot and ultimately fall short. Engineer Dustin DeLage has done incredible work restoring the video from the original VHS tape that was lost for 35 years!
And what's in the movie, you ask? Three full live Nor'easter performances from their final show at a street festival, May 2, 1987. Interviews with the three surviving members. The story of the miracle recovery and restoration of those precious 8-track reels that held the best performances of our music. There is also a wealth of old photos and other archival material to weave together a compelling story you may want to see more than once. It's 33 minutes of hard rocking, laughs, fine memories and poignant moments, and most of all, Matt.
We are thrilled for you to see & experience our film; especially if you missed our two screenings back in 2023. It's been a long time, and it's beyond words to have these very visceral and, dare we say, well-packaged musical memories to share with you.
And yes, thanks for subscribing to our channel while you're there. Just in case. You never know what else we might have up our sleeves or in the treasure box.

Rock Time in Your Town is compelling mini documentary built around found footage of a talented young hard rock band from what would be their final show in 1987. For every band that "makes the big time", there are thousands who never get the chance to be in the right place at the right time. That common story is rarely told.
This is one version of that story, as told by those who lived it during the hard rock & heavy metal wave of the 80s, made possible by a video treasure miraculously found and painstakingly restored after 35 years.
Nor’easter’s surviving members share their story through original footage of their final concert filmed by a friend with a "state of the art" VHS camera in May of 1987, and in interviews at Cabin Studios in Virginia in 2022…and pay final tribute to their fallen bandmate Matthew Bouley.
Producers: Dustin Delage, house engineer and IT specialist at Cabin Studios, owned and operated by founding Nitty Gritty Dirt Band member Les Thompson.
and Andrew McKnight, singer/songwriter, author and original member of Nor'easter.
Narrated by Eleni Kelakos, motivational speaker and founder of The Eleni Group coaching service for keynote speakers, as well as an author, actress and singer/songwriter.
All recorded music in the film can be found on Nor'easter's Calm Before the Storm album, available at https://noreasterrocks.bandcamp.com/album/calm-before-the-storm.
Run time 33 minutes.
