This summer Andrew resumes his work with the wonderful youth songwriting program Chords of Courage in Frederick County, Maryland. For several years, Andrew taught weekly songwriting workshops as part of their annual Step Up! songwriting contest for middle and high school students, making history and current events come to life while inspiring us to STEP UP! and make a difference through service projects.
This summer Chords of Courage is bringing songwriting into Frederick County summer camps, in keeping with their mission of using songwriting as a catalyst to make a difference in the lives of others. Over the course of three sessions in two weeks, the teens are working together to write a song hoping to inspire and offer hope to people going through difficult times. They are continuing the parallel work of community service projects during their camp as well.
Music IS powerful indeed, and especially so in the hands and hearts of passionate and motivated young adults among us!
