The Tour Bus Finally Revs Its Engines Again

It has been a pleasant surprise that the booking office has been fielding calls and emails from farther afield this spring! While the annual autumn trip to New England has continued during the slow recovery from the pandemic, the closure of many venues nationwide during and since has generally kept touring closer to home in northern Virginia. The economics of being on the road are sharply more challenging as well, which forces us to be cautious in the planning department as well. Some of the wonderful “forces of nature” who helped host anchor shows sadly have passed away or stepped away due to poor health in their golden years as well.

Thankfully that landscape does appear to be changing, and we've accepted invites for 2027 solo shows in south Florida in February and central Texas in March. It is lovely indeed to return to concert series that were part of the pre-pandemic itinerary as well as new-to-us venues. Our Virginia Commission for the Arts grant is helping to bring Andrew's music to new-to-us corners of the Commonwealth in the upcoming year with Beyond Borders as well as solo.

It also creates the challenge of tour routing to get to and from those places! We're now busy looking for shows along the I-95 corridor in New England up to Maine for this September and possibly May, through the eastern/central Carolinas and Georgia for early February, and along the Gulf Coast and I-40/30 states for the mid-March trip. Additionally, we'd love to get a 2027 tour back out to reconnect with the wonderful folk of the “Vowel States” beyond western Pennsylvania to Chicago and Milwaukee.

As always, house concerts, listening rooms, library programs and school workshops all would fit the bill nicely, so we welcome suggestions and connections - please email us if you'd like to share some ideas!
