A Rare Live Performance Video

Andrew returned to his hometown theater, the Franklin Park Arts Center in Purcellville VA, for a solo concert November 1st, 2023 with a very special guest in tow. His now 16-year old fiddling daughter Madeleine joined him for several songs, including a very rare performance of “Long Ago and Far Away” from Treasures in My Chest. In Andrew's words:

"Today is All Soul's Day, a day when we remember our ancestors and our beloved dead. Many cultures around the northern hemisphere have some version of a holiday now, at a time when we often describe the "thinning of the veil" between this world and whatever lies beyond.

Having spent a considerable portion of the last few years in some form of thrall to my ancestors writing the songs and pages that became Treasures in My Chest, I am now keenly aware that one day WE will be the ancestors. This short piece from the album encapsulates that in less than two minutes, but the symbolism stretches considerably longer. As she did four years ago in the studio, the now 16-year old "held me up" with her fiddle for me to sing over it. Complete and total trust in her to take the mantle; the next generation in music and in life.

So with gratitude to my ancestors, and those that made magical you, and especially to my beloved kid for stepping out on stage into it, we hope you enjoy it."
