Les with John McEuen, Sam Bush & Jerry Douglas on PBS

Many roots and country music fans remember that our Beyond Borders bandmate Les Thompson was a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. While he left the band in 1973 after their landmark triple album Will The Circle Be Unbroken, he has remained in touch with his old friend John McEuen and done several shows with him and John Carter Cash in recent years to celebrate that album and the Carter Family legacy.

So last night like millions of other folks we got to watch Les help John celebrate his 70th birthday for a 2-hour live concert extravaganza on the PBS show "Music City Roots". And what an all-star band! Rhonda Vincent, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and a whole bunch of other luminaries young and old put on a heck of a show.

You can watch it anytime you like - head over to http://musiccityroots.com. Les actually sings and plays his beautiful Fairbuilt bouzouki on the 3rd cut in the show, the traditional "Dooley".

We're proud of our pal and glad to see him have some fun with old friends - don't miss it!
